Preparation for Colonoscopy

Your doctor wants you have a colonoscopy. A colonoscopy is a test that uses a long, thin flexible tube with a camera to check the inside of your colon or large bowel. Before you have a colonoscopy, you will need to change your diet and take a bowel preparation. This is a strong laxative that cleans your bowel. It is important that you understand the instructions and finish your bowel preparation correctly. This will allow the doctor to check your bowel completely and safely. If your bowel is not clean, you may need to have another colonoscopy.
