Dr Gabrielle Wark is a highly accomplished gastroenterologist specialising in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD). She completed her foundational medical training and physician training within the prestigious Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) Hospital network. This was followed by advanced specialty training in gastroenterology at Liverpool and Campbelltown Hospitals, where she honed her expertise in managing complex IBD cases. Gabrielle further deepened her knowledge through an IBD fellowship at St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst, focusing on cutting-edge therapies and patient-centric care.

Currently, Dr Wark serves as a Staff Specialist at Liverpool Hospital, where she leads IBD subspecialty clinics with a unique focus on pregnancy and the seamless transition of paediatric patients to adult IBD services. Her clinical interests reflect her dedication to providing holistic care tailored to the individual needs of her patients.

In addition to her clinical role, Dr. Wark is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) through the University of New South Wales (UNSW). Her research investigates the intricate relationships between metabolic health, gut microbiota, and oral microbial diversity in patients with IBD, contributing to the growing understanding of precision medicine in gastroenterology.

Dr Wark is also a passionate educator and mentor, actively involved in teaching and supervising junior doctors and advanced trainees. She has contributed significantly to the development of future gastroenterologists through her roles as a lecturer, clinical tutor, and supervisor for research projects at UNSW and other institutions.
Beyond her clinical and academic pursuits, Dr Wark is a sought-after speaker at national and international conferences and has an impressive portfolio of publications focusing on the role of diet, microbiota, and metabolic health in IBD.
