Dr Cynthuja Thilakanathan is a Gastroenterologist working as a Visiting Medical Officer at Liverpool and Campbelltown Public Hospitals, providing quality service in interventional and general gastroenterology.

Dr Thilakanathan completed her MBBS at Western Sydney University in 2015. She completed her gastroenterology advanced training at St George and Sutherland Hospital, and Liverpool Hospital. She obtained her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in 2022 and also completed a Masters in Medicine by Research in hepatology in 2021, University of New South Wales.

Dr Thilakanathan went on to pursue interventional endoscopy training with an advanced endoscopy fellowship at Liverpool hospital followed by Vancouver General Hospital, University of British Columbia, where she underwent further training in complex ERCP, advanced endoscopic ultrasound, enteral stenting and endoscopic mucosal resection. Her special interests include hepatobiliary medicine, in particular, therapeutic EUS and ERCP.

Dr Thilakanathan holds Australian Conjoint Committee accreditation in gastroscopy, colonoscopy, ERCP and EUS.
